BRD Groupe Societe Generale customers can pay and receive money, in a maximum of 10 seconds, through RoPay service

Accessible through YOU BRD mobile banking application, RoPay will allow users to initiate instant payments with their mobile phones, directly from one bank account to another, using technologies such as QR code scanning, deep link, NFC (contactless) or mobile number as an alias for IBAN. The first available mode of use is for P2P ("person-to-person") payments in proximity.

RoPay is available around the clock, 24/7. Through RoPay , YOU BRD users can pay or request money based on a QR code,  without entering the beneficiary's bank details. 

In order to use RoPay, both the payer and the beneficiary must be next to each other and have the mobile banking applications of the banks where they hold the accounts installed, and those banks must offer this service. Payments are processed instantly, in less than 10 seconds, at the highest security standards, ensuring the protection of data and transactions. 

The community of banks that offer instant payments through the RoPay service currently has 3 members: BRD, Libra Internet Banking and CEC Bank, and will expand by the end of the year with other participants.

For the implementation of the project, BRD Groupe Société Générale collaborated with Montran and the developer of the RoPay payment scheme in Romania, TRANSFOND.
